Nutrition Advice That Respects Your Choices

A vegan or vegetarian diet can support good health when it is varied and thoughtfully planned. You should not have to defend your food choices when asking for healthcare.

Your vegan nutritionist will work with your values, preferences, culture, budget, cooking skills and health needs. Because our nutritionists are qualified dietitians, they can also tailor advice around medical conditions and more involved nutrition needs. The aim is to strengthen what you already eat, not hand you a rigid or unrealistic meal plan.

  • Review your usual meals, snacks, drinks and supplements
  • Identify likely nutrient gaps without unnecessary restriction
  • Build practical sources of protein, iron, calcium and zinc into your day
  • Plan reliable vitamin B12 intake and discuss when medical review may help
  • Adapt advice for allergies, gut symptoms, diabetes or other health needs
  • Create realistic strategies for home, work, school, travel and eating out

Our approach

Nutritionists Who Understand Plant-Based Eating

Several members of our nutrition team have personal and professional experience with vegan and plant-based lifestyles. This helps us understand the practical questions that can be missed when advice focuses only on what has been removed from the diet.

We use current nutrition evidence while listening to what matters to you. Your plan may cover everyday food choices, fortified foods, suitable supplements, label reading, easy recipes and discussions with your GP when blood tests or medical review may be useful.

Simply Nutrition Dietitians has supported individuals and families since 2011. Our nutritionists are Accredited Practising Dietitians, offering clinic appointments in Queensland and telehealth consultations across Australia.

Common questions

Vegan Nutritionist FAQs

Clear answers to common questions about vegan, vegetarian and plant-based nutrition support.

Can a vegan diet provide all the nutrients I need?
A varied, well-planned vegan diet can meet most nutrient needs. Vitamin B12 needs particular attention because strict vegan diets require a reliable fortified source or supplement. Individual needs can also change with age, pregnancy, health conditions and activity levels.
Do I need to take a vitamin B12 supplement?
Australian guidance recommends vitamin B12 supplementation for people following a vegan diet. Your nutritionist can help you review fortified foods and supplement options. Speak with your GP if you are concerned about deficiency or need blood testing.
Can you help me transition to vegan or vegetarian eating?
Yes. We can help you make gradual or immediate changes, replace foods thoughtfully, plan balanced meals and find options that suit your budget, cooking skills and routine.
Can you support vegan children and teenagers?
Yes. Our vegan nutritionists can support children, teenagers and families with growth, energy, key nutrients, school food and practical family meals. Advice is tailored to the child's age, health and stage of development.
Can you help if I also have IBS or digestive symptoms?
Yes. A qualified nutritionist and dietitian can help balance plant-based eating with gut health needs. This is useful when broad food restriction could make nutrient adequacy or food variety harder to maintain.
Will you ask me to eat animal products?
Our advice starts with your preferences and values. We focus on helping you meet your nutrition needs within your chosen eating pattern wherever this is safe and appropriate.
Can I see a vegan nutritionist online?
Yes. Telehealth consultations are available across Australia. Selected in-person clinic appointments are also available in Queensland.
