Online paediatric dietitian support for Canberra & ACT
Paediatric Dietitian Canberra & ACT
Our paediatric dietitians provide online nutrition support for babies, children and teenagers across Canberra and the ACT.
We help families with feeding difficulties, limited food variety, growth concerns, poor appetite, gut symptoms, allergies and the everyday challenge of keeping a child well nourished.
Feeding support when meals are becoming difficult
Some children strongly prefer familiar foods, notice small changes in texture or presentation, or find trying something new overwhelming.
We look at the reasons eating may be difficult and work with your child’s current skills and accepted foods. The goal is progress that feels manageable rather than increasing pressure around meals.

Reasons a child may benefit from a paediatric dietitian
Nutrition concerns can show up in different ways. Sometimes they are obvious, and sometimes parents simply have a feeling that something about eating or growth is not quite right.
Low appetite
Meals are small, eating takes a long time or your child rarely seems hungry.
Growth concerns
Weight, height or growth patterns have raised questions for you or your health team.
Gut symptoms
Constipation, tummy pain or digestive symptoms are affecting comfort and eating.
Restricted diets
Allergies, intolerances or limited food choices make meeting nutrition needs harder.
Looking at more than a list of foods
Your child’s nutrition is influenced by appetite, growth, routines, sensory preferences, family meals, school, sleep, health and the foods they currently feel comfortable eating.
We bring those pieces together and work out where dietetic support can make the biggest difference, rather than focusing only on what your child is not eating.
Online paediatric dietitian appointments from home
Telehealth can be a practical option for families managing school, work, therapies and other appointments. You can speak with your dietitian from a familiar environment and have foods, packaging, supplements or lunchbox items nearby if they are useful to discuss.
Review what is happening now
We start with your current concerns, food patterns, feeding history, symptoms and available growth information.
Choose realistic priorities
We work out what needs attention first and avoid overwhelming your family with too many changes at once.
Adjust as your child changes
Follow-up can be used to review progress and adapt strategies as appetite, routines and feeding confidence change.
Nutrition across meals, snacks and school days
Children may eat very differently at home compared with school or childcare. Lunchboxes may come home untouched, breakfast may be rushed, or after-school hunger may affect dinner.
We can help you think about nutrition across the whole day and build around foods your child actually eats rather than an idealised meal plan.
Support for neurodivergent children
Sensory preferences, routines, predictability and strong food preferences may all influence eating for neurodivergent children.
We use responsive, sensory-aware strategies and work with your child’s current strengths rather than relying on pressure or forcing food.

Are appointments available in person in Canberra?
Our Canberra and ACT paediatric dietitian service is provided online. Our physical clinic locations are in Queensland, while telehealth allows families in Canberra and the ACT to access our paediatric dietitian team from home.
What ages can you support?
Our paediatric dietitians work with babies, children and teenagers. The assessment and recommendations are adapted to the child’s age, development and reason for seeking support.
Can you help with a child who avoids most foods?
Yes. We can support children with selective eating, a limited food range and food refusal. We review nutrition needs alongside feeding patterns and discuss strategies that are appropriate for the individual child.
Can you help if my child is small for their age?
Where growth is a concern, your dietitian can review available growth information alongside appetite, intake and health history and discuss whether nutrition strategies may be useful.
Can you help with school lunchboxes?
Yes. Lunchboxes can be included as part of the broader nutrition plan, particularly when your child eats differently at school or brings food home uneaten.
Can you work with my child's other therapists?
Yes. With consent, your dietitian can communicate with your child’s GP, paediatrician, occupational therapist, speech pathologist or other health professionals when coordinated care is useful.
Do we need a referral?
Families can contact our team directly to discuss booking. If you already have a referral from a GP, paediatrician or another professional, you can also submit it through our online referral form.
